DIN976 Stud Bolts

DIN 976 Stud Bolts are fully threaded metric fasteners designed for connections where fastening points are required along the length of the component. Unlike conventional bolts with a fixed head, the threaded section can engage with nuts, couplers, threaded holes, or other components from either end, giving greater flexibility when configuring an assembly. This design is useful for supporting, suspending, joining, and spacing components where a conventional bolt may not provide sufficient thread length. The continuous thread also allows nuts and other accessories to be positioned according to the required installation distance, making stud bolts practical for both fixed and adjustable fastening arrangements.

We supply DIN 976 stud bolts in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel, with metric thread sizes, different property classes, surface finishes, and standard or customer-specified lengths. Material and strength should be selected according to the load, environment, and mating components used in the complete assembly. For new projects, the exact standard designation should be confirmed with the drawing or purchasing specification. DIN 976-1 is the relevant part for metric-threaded stud bolts, while the broader DIN 976 designation is commonly used in commercial product descriptions.

Dimension Chart of DIN976 Stud Bolts:

The DIN 976 dimension chart provides the key measurements needed to select a suitable stud bolt, including thread diameter, thread pitch, and overall length. Since the stud bolt is fully threaded, the diameter and pitch must match the nuts, couplers, or threaded holes used in the assembly. The required length depends on the connection design and the amount of thread engagement needed at each end. When selecting a size, allow sufficient length for nuts, washers, spacers, brackets, or other mating components without leaving unnecessary excess. Standard metric sizes and lengths can be supplied for common applications. Custom lengths and specific thread requirements are also available for assemblies that cannot be matched with standard dimensions.

Application of DIN976 Stud Bolts:

Equipment & Machinery Assembly

DIN 976 stud bolts can be used for machine frames, equipment bases, mounting brackets, covers, supports, and mechanical assemblies where components need to be secured using nuts from one or both sides.

Pipe & Equipment Supports

They are suitable for pipe supports, equipment suspension, cable tray supports, ventilation systems, and mechanical service installations, where the continuous thread allows the position of nuts and support components to be adjusted during installation.

Structural & Fabricated Assemblies

Stud bolts can be incorporated into steel structures, fabricated frames, brackets, connection plates, and support systems where a threaded connection is required over a longer distance or where access for a conventional bolt head is limited.

Flanged & Bolted Connections

For suitable designs, DIN 976 stud bolts can be used in flange connections, equipment mounting points, and bolted joints where nuts are used to secure the connected components. The required material and property class should be selected according to the load and service conditions.

Selection Tip

DIN 976 stud bolts are most useful when the assembly requires thread engagement at one or both ends without a conventional bolt head. For critical or highly loaded connections, confirm the required property class, material, nut compatibility, and applicable design standard before selection.
