GB831 Slotted Shoulder Screws

GB 831 Slotted Shoulder Screws are headless shoulder screws with a slotted drive, designed for compact fastening and precise positioning in mechanical assemblies. The shoulder provides a defined bearing surface for locating and supporting components, while the slotted end allows easy installation and adjustment with a suitable screwdriver.

Manufactured according to GB 831, these screws are available in sizes from M1.6 to M10 and can be supplied in different materials and finishes according to application requirements. Their compact headless design is suitable for assemblies where limited space or controlled shoulder dimensions are important. GB 831 Slotted Shoulder Screws are commonly used in mechanical equipment, fixtures, instruments, compact assemblies, and component positioning applications. Custom requirements can also be produced according to customer drawings and specifications.

Specification:

GB 831 Slotted Shoulder Screws are manufactured according to GB/T 831-1988, which specifies the dimensions and technical requirements for headless shoulder screws with a slotted drive. The standard covers nominal sizes from M1.6 to M10 and defines the shoulder, thread, slot, and other key dimensions required for proper assembly and positioning. The standard specifies different requirements according to the screw material. Steel screws are specified with mechanical property class 14H, while stainless steel versions are available in A1-50 and C4-50 classes. Steel screws use a 6g thread tolerance, and the products are manufactured to Product Grade A requirements.

GB 831 Slotted Shoulder Screws can be supplied in steel or stainless steel, with plain or zinc-plated and passivated finishes according to the applicable requirements. For applications requiring specific materials, dimensions, or finishes, production can also be carried out according to customer drawings and agreed specifications.

Dimension Chart of GB831 Slotted Shoulder Screws :

The GB 831 dimension chart covers the key dimensions required for the proper installation and positioning of slotted shoulder screws. These include the nominal thread diameter, shoulder diameter, shoulder length, thread length, overall length, and slot dimensions. GB 831 screws are available in nominal sizes from M1.6 to M10. The shoulder diameter and shoulder length are particularly important because the shoulder provides the locating and bearing surface for the assembled component. Thread size and length should be selected according to the mounting hole and required thread engagement.

Application of GB831 Slotted Shoulder Screws :

Component Positioning

GB 831 Slotted Shoulder Screws are commonly used for precise positioning and locating of components in mechanical assemblies. The shoulder provides a controlled bearing surface that helps maintain the position of the mating part.

Mechanical Assemblies

The compact headless design makes these screws suitable for mechanical assemblies where a conventional screw head could interfere with surrounding components. The slotted drive allows the screw to be installed or adjusted with a suitable screwdriver.

Fixtures & Jigs

GB 831 shoulder screws can be used in fixtures, jigs, tooling, and positioning mechanisms, where consistent component location and a defined shoulder dimension are required.
