A2-80 Stainless Steel Bolts
A2-80 stainless steel bolts are designed for fastening applications that require a combination of high strength, corrosion resistance and long-term durability. Compared with standard A2-70 bolts, A2-80 provides a higher strength level, with a minimum tensile strength of 800 MPa. A2-80 bolts are commonly manufactured from 304 or 304L stainless steel and cold worked to achieve their higher mechanical strength while maintaining the corrosion resistance associated with A2 stainless steel. Type of A2-80 Bolt:
A2-80 stainless steel bolts are available in different designs to meet fastening requirements where higher mechanical strength and corrosion resistance are both important. Chemical Composition of A2-80 Bolt:
The chemical composition of A2-80 stainless steel bolts is specified according to ISO 3506-1. A2 is an austenitic stainless steel grade for corrosion-resistant fasteners, with chromium and nickel as the main alloying elements. The chemical composition requirements control elements such as carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel and copper to provide the required material characteristics for A2 stainless steel fasteners. A2-80 and A2-70 belong to the same A2 material group, so their main difference is the mechanical property class rather than the basic chemical composition. Mechanical Property of A2-80 Bolt:
The mechanical properties of A2-80 stainless steel bolts are specified according to ISO 3506-1. The “80” in the A2-80 designation represents a minimum tensile strength of 800 MPa, while the minimum stress at 0.2% non-proportional elongation is 600 MPa. Compared with A2-70, which has a minimum tensile strength of 700 MPa and a 0.2% non-proportional elongation stress of 450 MPa, A2-80 provides a higher strength level for applications requiring greater load-bearing capability. The standard also specifies a minimum elongation after fracture of 0.3d for A2-80 fasteners. The main mechanical property requirements are shown in the table below.

Application of A2-80 Bolt:
Machinery & Industrial Equipment
A2-80 stainless steel bolts are suitable for machinery, industrial equipment and mechanical assemblies where higher fastening strength is required together with good corrosion resistance. They can be used for equipment components, machine frames, brackets, fixtures and other mechanical connections exposed to moisture or common industrial environments. The higher strength level of A2-80 makes it a suitable choice when A2-70 bolts do not provide the required mechanical strength.

A2-80 bolts can be used in construction equipment, outdoor installations, fixtures, railings and other applications where stainless steel fastening components are exposed to moisture and changing weather conditions. Their combination of 800 MPa minimum tensile strength and corrosion resistance provides durable fastening for applications requiring a stronger stainless steel bolt. Equipment & Processing Systems
A2-80 stainless steel bolts are also suitable for equipment and processing systems where both strength and resistance to moisture are important. They can be used in food processing machinery, water treatment equipment, pumps, tanks, conveyors and other industrial systems. For applications involving seawater or high chloride exposure, A4 stainless steel fasteners may be more appropriate because they provide higher corrosion resistance.
